Business Plan Tips
for Funding
In my years as a small business lender, I noticed the many gaps in understanding how to prepare, and the purpose of business plans. I’ve seen many businesses with great ideas, without the understanding of how to effectively express that idea to a lending institution with their business plans. During my role as a community development commercial lender, I furthered my education in business administration in hopes to better educate startup and early-stage businesses seeking funding.
The purpose for this website is to provide supplemental business plan information with an explanation of how each component of the business plan supports lender confidence. I look to be an avenue to encourage the success of small businesses. All information on this page will be presented in an easy to read, relatable, and digestible manner.
Below we will outline the requirements of a business plan. Each section will have its own dedicated page to further breakdown the purpose, importance, and examples of how the business plan should complete. For more information, select the title of the section.

I look for this page to be a positive promotion of small business growth and support. All businesses spotlighted have been mentioned by supporters of their businesses, and the selection will always be random. A Small Business Spotlight does not indicate any association with Pierre Lamou, nor will any payment be required to be listed.
